I haven’t tested this recipe with frozen cherries, but if you want to try it be sure to let the cherries thaw completely and then drain off any excess liquid before adding them to the filling. You can also use sour cherries in this recipe, but you will want to increase the amount of sugar in the filling. I usually make this pie with fresh sweet cherries.
